The Wilbur is a 5-story mixed-use adaptive reuse project transforming the historic Wilbur Chocolate Factory complex—dating back over 100 years—into a boutique hotel, condominium residences, restaurant, and market. Given an accelerated project schedule, a pre-fab framing kit was essential to meet project deadlines across three wings. In addition to framing out the hotel rooms and condominiums, Quality Buildings added a rooftop terrace to one wing—requiring reinforcement of the existing structure to carry the added load. Because that wing was four stories tall and attached to the five-story hotel, Quality Buildings also constructed an access walkway between the hotel and the rooftop terrace. This nearly four-year project required sustained attention to value engineering, quality control, scheduling, and cost containment throughout.
